Throughout my 4 years running varsity for the University of Virginia I had been relatively injury free, so I was understandably upset when I began having knee problems during my senior season. Those problems became worse and required that I have surgery after competing in the US Track World Championship Qualifier. I was nervous about getting surgery because I had just signed a professional contract with the Brooks Beasts Track Club and wanted to make sure I was able to keep up when I joined them in Seattle. Luckily I found Mike, who worked with me nearly every day throughout the summer to ensure I was ready for this transition. It was hard work but I could quickly see positive results and I knew that I could trust Mike wholeheartedly. Mike also went above and beyond by coming to run with me when I was getting back into shape. I’m happy to say that I’ve been with the Brooks Beasts for nearly a month now and my knee feels better than ever; I am able to keep up in workouts both on the track and in the weight room. I am extremely grateful for everything Mike did for me this summer and I look forward to keeping in contact with him both as a professional resource and a friend.

I began working with Mike shortly after I suffered a tibia / fibula fracture playing soccer and was already committed to play at the Divison 1 level. The first time he and I met, he asked me what my personal goals were for recovery and post recovery. Quite simply, the manner in which he spoke and the examination, information shared, and positive energy he exuded during our conversation, I knew I was in the right place and would be working with the foremost physical therapist/trainer in Fairfield County. Although there were many times when I believed I would never be pain free again, Mike was always there to help me physically and mentally to remember that I would fully recover and achieve anything I set my mind to.
Mike and his staff are not only incredible trainers who stay up to the minute on modern training techniques, but they genuinely care about their athletes’ physical, personal and mental well being. I know that I am fortunate to have met Mike and his team and to be training in such a positive and amazing environment. I can’t wait to continue to work with the staff at GOAL this summer and to be the best I can be for the fall season!

I was introduced to Mike after being diagnosed with an injury that was hindering my soccer career at a time when I needed to be performing my absolute best. I very much feared deferring to surgery before preseason with the New York Red Bulls, but once I sat down with Mike, he assured me that together we could get back to 100%. From this point forward, I cannot speak more highly of Mike’s expertise, commitment, methods and above all, congeniality. Not only did I begin and play through preseason pain-free after working with Mike for only two months, but I sincerely created a life long friend. It is without question that I can say Mike’s unrivaled commitment to the well-being of his clients paired with his innovative and receptive methods place him at the top of his profession.

After tearing my ACL and having it repaired, I started working with Michael to get back on the field as quickly as possible. I was anxious to start playing again and worried I would not be able to play at the level I was at before my injury. Michael, however, went above and beyond to ease my worries and put me in the best possible position for returning to sport. Not only was Michael a phenomenal physical therapist who made me stronger in all aspects, he also acted as my support system throughout my recovery. I am confident that the strength and physical preparation will improve my playing and elevate me to a higher level of sport.

In the midst of my fall high school soccer season I suffered an ankle sprain. All I wanted to do was to get back out on the field and play my normal game, but I was burdened by the pain and the threat of hurting myself more. My worries were soon ceased when I was introduced to Mike and the GOAL team. I started attending physical therapy sessions and was in awe by how much improvement I felt after just a few short sessions. Initially when I had hurt my ankle, I feared not being able to play to my full potential for the remainder of the season but through our exercises and treatment, my ankle felt stronger than ever. Mike was so flexible with my soccer schedule and wanted to do whatever he could to get me playing at my full capacity. Not only do I have Mike to thank for the improvement of my ankle, but as a soccer player I have benefited immensely from working with him. Since this past fall I have felt so much stronger and more explosive as a player. I am so lucky to have found such a great place to improve my physical strength and make some amazing friends!!
